#YogaMats | #Dandasana
Dandasana, aka, staff pose is a preparatory pose for the body & mind for other advanced seated postures. The practitioner sits with a tall & strong back and legs extended to the front. The practitioner also engages three bandhas (Muladhara, Uddiyana, & Jalandhara).
Another day,
Another time.
I'm back to you,
To throw my charms.
ββ
I roll you over,
For an uncover.
Drop everything,
As I prepare.
ββ
With a deep breath,
I tune into myself.
Take in everything,
At that moment.
ββ
Feel my body,
Calm down my mind.
Feel my soul,
Leave all behind.
ββ
Extend my legs,
To the front.
Sit up straight,
Enter into Dandasana.
ββ
Spread my toes,
Press down my buttocks.
Keep my spine straight,
Bring hands by the side.
ββ
Open my chest,
Broaden my collarbone.
Hold the posture,
As I build on this.
ββ
Flex my ankle,
Lift my spirit.
Draw my toes back,
Look for SELF, strip it.
ββ
Curl my toes,
Let out the hurt.
Press down my femur,
Root me into the earth.
ββ
NOTE: The femur is the longest bone in the body, in the upper leg (thigh).
